Molly Rose In Stereo

These are my attempts to generate stereo pairs of images of Molly. To get the three dimensional effect, you need to look at the pictures like you look at those "Magic Eye" pictures (i.e., stare at the two pictures and make them merge into a single image). To get a sense of how your eyes can do this, hold your finger out at arm's length, then slowly move it toward your face and notice what your eye muscles are doing. You'll note that things in the background go into double vision while your finger remains single and vice versa. That's the eye control you need to view a stereo pair.

Getting this stereo pair was a little hard because our camera can, of course, take only one picture at a time. But I got her while she was asleep, so she didn't move too much between the two pictures. The effect would have been better if I could have captured the texture of the basket in the background, but I think you still get the general idea. It's probably most noticeable with her hand and the collar of her onesie.
