Lou's New Old Home

You'll never guess where I am now. Yes, I've returned to beautiful Ithaca, New York. It's a bit of a change from sunny San Diego.

I left my job at Agave BioSystems and have returned to academia. I'm now working with John Parker's group in the Cornell Vet School, studying reoviruses.

I've been spending a good deal of time getting acquainted with the current members of Watermargin, the cooperative where I lived during my junior and senior years at Cornell. Though I may at times be a bit overenthusiastic, they seem to tolerate me well enough.

As most of you know by now, I got married in December of 2001. Karen gave birth on July 12, 2005 to young Miss Molly Rose.

Our friends, Timothy and Katherine, have made a world of difference during this cross-country transition, and our neighbors have been really, really great. (You can check out Timothy's cool storyboarding shareware at www.6sys.com.) Our neighbors, Bruce and Pauline, are always checking in on us and feeding us.

I am also providing some scientific advice to the Ithaca Biodiesel Cooperative. A variety of resources for startups in the region are available at Research & Enterprise - Ithaca.
